WHAT TYPES OF CARS CAN WE RENT?

Our RENTAL VEHICLES are FORD FALCON WAGONS (known as our Camperwagons) AND FORD FALCON PANELVANS (known as our SemiCampers) and these are ALL covered by NRMA 24 HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. The vehicles are in very good running order and regularly serviced and maintained. Most have Air Conditioning and all have Power Steering.

Typically, our rental vehicles are around 10 years old (1993 - 1996 Models) and are equipped with reliable and economical 4.0 Litre 6 Cylinder Engines that will achieve approximately 10 litres per 100 km fuel consumption (60 litre tank = 600 kms) and will easily cruise along at 100 plus kms all day long!

There is ample room inside the cars for all your luggage and the Camping Gear we provide, and for you to sit back, stretch your legs and enjoy the ride.

ALL VEHICLES INCLUDE with the Rental Price: UNLIMITED KM'S; INSURANCE; 24 HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE & A GREAT CAMPING GEAR PACKAGE which consists of everything you will need to be self-sufficient - and importantly - there are NO Hidden Costs!

Each rental car will sleep Two (2) people comfortably and together with the Camping Gear we provide, it is possible to accommodate up to Six (6) persons.

Our Rates are always negotiable and should you be given a cheaper Rate by any genuine Competitor - we will happily try to match it every time!

INSURANCE EXCESS (BOND)

As Standard with any Rental Vehicle, there is an Insurance Excess. If you are 21-24 years old it is $1500 and for 25 years and older, it is $1000.

You will need a Credit Card for the Excess (Bond) - and all we do is take a swipe only of your Card - we DO NOT take funds from the Card.

The Insurance Excess is purely a 'Bond' which will ONLY be collected in the event of an accident or damages caused to the Rental Vehicle.

Should you require Roofracks for your surfboard or other - we do have vehicles with these fitted - so please let us know. The Camperwagons seat up to Six (6) people and the SemiCampers seat Two (2). Each vehicle is fitted with an AM/FM CASSETTE STEREO for your listening pleasure on the road and they all have Cigarette Lighters so you can charge up the all important Mobile Phone etc.

F.A.Q. I'M STILL NOT SURE IF I SHOULD RENT OR BUY A CAR?

This is one of the most common questions we are asked. The decision made will depend on how long you are travelling for and if you have the time at the end of your trip to re-sell the car you have purchased - or to return it to us for the 40% Guaranteed BuyBack Price. You have to weigh up the costs of a rental car for the same period travelling, in comparison to purchasing your own car and selling that on to a fellow traveller (if you have the time) or taking up your BuyBack Agreement. The following example will help you to decide which option best suits your Budget and Time Frame:

RENTING a CamperWagon for a period of Four (4) weeks:

Rental Rate @ $39 P/Day x 28 Days = TOTAL RENTAL COST $1092.00.
This price includes everything: Unlimited KMS; Insurance; NRMA 24 Hour Roadside Assistance & Camping Gear ALL INCLUSIVE!
Insurance Excess: 21-24 years $1500 and 25 years or older $1000.

BUYING a Ford Falcon Wagon for $3200 with complete Package deal travelling Four (4) weeks:

Associated Costs: Transfer of Ownership at Road & Traffic Authority = $114
Three (3) Months 'Third Party' Insurance: = $260 - (Insurance is NON-COMPULSORY, however, highly recommended for peace of mind).
NRMA 24 HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE: = $50
TOTAL PURCHASE COST = $3624.00

The Guaranteed BuyBack is valid for Six (6) Months from the DATE OF SALE and is based on 40% of the Car's Sale Price: in this case $3200 - LESS the Cost of the Warranty ($200) which we include with all Cars - meaning the BuyBack Price offered is 40% of $3000 which equals $1200. $1200 is the amount we will 'buyback' your car for at the end of your trip - and this BuyBack is Valid for 6 Months from the day you bought the Car from us.
BUYBACK PRICE: = $1200.00

 

THE VERDICT.. WHY RENT?

Total Car Purchase Cost for 1 Month travel: $3624.00 LESS BuyBack Price $1200 = $2424.00 Loss.
Total Rental Cost for 28 Days @ $39 P/Day = $1092.00.

From this example here, a One (1) Month Rental is ONLY $1092.00 compared with the $2424.00 spent on purchasing your own car for the same period of travel. Big difference. With a Rental Car you also have the luxury of returning the vehicle as close to your departure as possible, even on the day before travelling home. No worries..No fuss! In comparison, buying your own set of wheels is more suitable when travelling for AT LEAST Six (6) to Eight (8) weeks and MORE.

From our experience, most travellers Rent cars for UP TO Six (6) weeks travel and if travelling for much longer, will buy their own car because of this comparison factor, e.g. (as above) you buy a Car for $3624.00 and travel for Six (6) months - come back to us for the Guaranteed BuyBack Price of $1200.00 - you get that money back in your pocket - meaning you only actually spent $2424.00 for six months travelling! So it only cost you $400 per month for Six (6) Months! When travelling for shorter periods, you CAN'T beat a Rental!
